Itinerary for 12 days all Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda [Entebbe]

Welcome to the pearl of Africa! You will be picked at the airport by Motion Safari’s professional guide for our 12 days Uganda Safari. Transfer to the lodge and relax after the journey.

Overnight: Sheraton Hotel Kampala

Day 2:  Transfer From Kampala to Jinja Zip Lining – Quad Biking

Early morning at around 6:00 am, after breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to the Eastern part of Uganda for the exciting adventures, first stop will be at the famous rainforest that is; Mabira Forest. On reaching the forest, you will be welcomed by the local guide who will also brief you on the activities you will be doing in the forest. That is; Nature walks where you will view different bird species, you will also engage in an adrenaline activity which is; Zip lining. After the activity, you will have lunch before proceeding to Jinja city for a fun filled Quad biking adventure taking you through boarding and cruising down the hills of Bujagali at high speeds that will get your adrenaline flowing with the spectacular scenery in the back ground.

Quad biking is a thrilling adventure sport especially for the adrenaline junkies. Enjoy exploring beautiful sites with spectacular sceneries like Lake Victoria, tea estates and different bird species in the area.

After going through the most unique quad biking trails, check in at the hotel. Have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

You set off early from your hotel for your journey to Murchison Falls NP. Along the way you will encounter the rhinos in Ziwa rhino sanctuary, ticking of the first of the Big 5 during these 12 days Uganda Safari. In the sanctuary they are working to reintroduce rhinos in Uganda and you go with a specialized guide for a walk to see them. Then you continue the journey to the largest National Park in Uganda. You will be welcomed by a refreshment at your lodge in Murchison falls national park. Before checking in, evening relaxation and dinner will be served. You will have lunch along the way. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Murchsion Falls Game Drive and Boat-Cruise on the Nile   

Set off for an early morning game-drive in the park. You have the chance of seeing big cats hunting, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76. We continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals. Enjoy lunch and some relaxation at the lodge after the game-drive. Then in the afternoon go for the 3-hour boat ride to the base of the falls where you get to see the Hippos (You have never seen more hippos yawning, Grooming in there Pods anywhere else than here)! Nile Crocodiles, Elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them.

 Day 5: Transfer From Murchsion Falls To Kibale National Park

After breakfast we transfer towards Kibale Forest National Park as we continue our 12 days Uganda Safari. It’s a long drive with our target to have lunch in Fort portal. We make stops in villages and scenic spots along the way to make the drive easier. We check in late afternoon to an area with an amazing display of primates and lovely scenery.

 Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking In Kibale National Park

Head into the forest of the Primate city of Kibale in the morning for chimpanzee trekking, the first great apes you will meet during this 10 days Uganda safari. This is a three hour experience. Kibale Forest national park is a rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees. Here you have the chance to see the chimps close up and capture shots of our closest cousins in the jungle in there frenzy exciting moods as they are grooming, building relationships, bringing up young ones, think and sharing food, plus rare bird species following them. In the forest 9 different species of Monkeys are found so you have chances of seeing red Columbus, red tailed monkey and bush babies on a great day. After the trek, you will have lunch before transferring to the Medley of wonders that is; Queen Elizabeth National Park via the crater lakes region.

Day 7: Transfer From Kibale National Park To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning with an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals. Possibility to see Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats like Lions, warthogs, Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the circuits as we drive along. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland sports as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes. After lunch it is time for the Classic highlight of the 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel stretches in a 36kms channel linking Lake George to Lake Edward. On the banks you can see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other, the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks and Savannah versions of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award-winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home!

Day 8: Morning and Afternoon Game Drive In Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the early morning we will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, known for its tree-climbing lions. Here we have chance to see Topis, buffaloes, elephants and hopefully find the lions high in the Fig tree branches. This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest and these 12 days Uganda Safari gives you the chance to experience it. After the morning game-drive we drive back to the lodge for lunch and a bit of rest before it is time to head out again for a second chance to search for lions during the afternoon game-drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast you will be driven through a grassland area, to leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. In Bwindi, you will be welcomed by the professional and hospitable concierge before dinner and overnight at the lodge. You will have lunch on the way.

Day 10: Bwindi Gorilla Safari

Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. You will be served dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 11: Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast you can choose to have a guided village walk for a closer meeting with the local community. Learn about their way of living as you walk through coffee, tea and banana plantations. Afterwards we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and boosts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

Get early up for a safari Jet Ski experience. Go back to the lodge for breakfast before starting the transfer towards Entebbe. Along the way we make a stop by the Equator, where you can have the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the southern and northern hemisphere. Connect to Entebbe where your guide drops you in time for an evening flight as we have reached the end of your 12 days Uganda safari [or add an extra night to fly the next day].
