Overview of Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most remarkable places on earth to witness mountain gorillas in the wild. Located in southwestern Uganda, the park’s dense rainforest provides a sanctuary for over 460 gorillas.
Bwindi is a biodiversity hotspot, boasting over 350 bird species, 200 butterfly species, and other wildlife such as forest elephants, monkeys, and antelope. Visitors can also engage in community experiences with the Batwa pygmies, the indigenous people of the forest, to learn about their traditional way of life. The park offers opportunities for nature walks, bird watching, and cultural encounters, making it an incredible eco-tourism destination

DAY 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest.
Depart Entebbe, you will be briefed about the whole safari before you travel to Bwindi at around 5:00am. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in south western Uganda. On the way, you get to enjoy the country side scenery with some of the most beautiful landscapes ranging from plantations to hills.
En-route stop over at the equator to take photos, also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs before you continue to Mbarara city for Lunch. Thereafter, proceed to Bwindi where you will arrive in the late evening. Check in at the lodge, relax in the evening and have dinner.
DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking
After your early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the park rangers before heading into the forest for your gorilla trek.
This memorable and amazing experience of watching mountain gorillas feed, play around and doing their daily activities takes up 2 to 8 hours since it is dependent on the location and movement of the gorillas. On meeting the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them as you take photos.
Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, you may choose to relax or visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on the way they live, dance and also enjoy story telling about their culture which will leave you amazed. Have dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 3: Departure back to Kampala.
Have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe passing through the rolling hills with terraces, whilst watching the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through. Have Lunch at Igongo cultural Centre in Mbarara. En-route stopover at Mpambire drum makers’ point. After supporting the local craftsmen, continue your journey arriving late afternoon. The guide will drop you off to the hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
