Day 1: Travel to Kidepo & Afternoon Game Drive
Early morning at 6:00 AM you’ll depart from Kampala or Entebbe. Begin your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park via road (10-12 hours) or by a domestic flight from Entebbe (2 hours). At 12:30 PM you’ll arrive and Check-in at the airstrip. If flying, arrive at Apoka Airstrip, where a guide will transfer you to your lodge, such as Apoka Safari Lodge or Kidepo Savannah Lodge. If traveling by road, stop for lunch in Gulu or Kitgum before proceeding to the park. In the afternoon at 3:00 PM you’ll have an afternoon Game Drive then later head out for your first safari experience in the Narus Valley, a prime area for spotting buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and lions. Day 2: Full Day Safari & Cultural Experience
In the morning at 6:00 AM you’ll have a breathtaking Sunrise Game Drive where you’ll explore the Kidepo Valley, known for its breathtaking landscapes and unique wildlife like cheetahs, ostriches, and bat-eared foxes. The drive takes you to the Kanangorok Hot Springs, offering stunning views of the South Sudanese border. At 9:00 AM – Breakfast at Lodge. After an exciting morning of wildlife spotting, return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast. At 10:30 AM, a guided Nature Walk accompanied by a ranger, walk through the savannah plains for a more immersive wildlife experience, learning about the flora and tracking animal footprints.
In the afternoon at 1:00 PM – Lunch & Relaxation where you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at your lodge, followed by some relaxation or a swim (if available at your lodge).
