Itinerary for Semuliki National Park:
Day 1: Depart for Semuliki National Park
Depart Kampala at around 6:00 am to Semuliki National Park, located in the Bundibugyo district. The Park is strategically located on the western Albertine rift valley next to the western border of Uganda and Congo. Check in to your booked accommodation on arrival and afternoon relaxation.
Day 2: Sempaya Hot spring and Amabere caves
Today after a heavy breakfast, you will visit Sempaya hot springs. The natural springs have a fountain shooting up from an 8m-wide hole at a hot temperature and are the largest of such a kind in the country. There are a number of primates including the red-tailed monkey and the grey-checked monkey.
With the help of our local guide, you will trail down the caves for a spectacular view. While there, you will be able to sight caves with the stunning stalactites and stalagmites with the milky substances within a water fall. The guide will take you through the History and tradition of this area. After you will then go for hiking along the hills that are as a result of volcanic eruptions, you will trail round the hill up to the top which offers a wonderful view. You will also sight swamps/ wetlands, the crater lakes which are a result of volcanic eruptions still and these provide a breath-taking view
Day 3: Return to Kampala
Day at leisure, enjoy your tasty breakfast at the lodge. Stopover at Nyinambuga Crater Lake which is evident on a 20k Uganda shillings note, then fort portal for lunch before driving to Kampala.
