Home to 13 primate species including over 1500 chimpanzees, this tropical gem offers unforgettable chimp tracking adventures beneath towering fig trees and echoing bird calls.

Bigodi swamp is also a hidden gem of Eco- tourism Just outside the Kibale lies this swamp. A community run conservation success story and a paradise for birders and eco- tourists which is dubbed as “The home of the great blue Turaco” Bigodi is a peaceful swamp teeming with life with over 200 bird species, monkeys swinging through Papyrus and butterflies fluttering above boardwalk. Guided nature walks take you deep into the wetland’s serenity where every reveals the harmony between people and Nature. Bigodi is not only a haven for wildlife it’s a model of how tourism can empower local communities and protect fragile eco- systems.
Highlights and activities
DAY 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi swamp
You will be welcomed by Motion Safaris guide driver, he/ she will drive you to western part of Uganda via Mubende – Fort Portal highway depending on your arrival time. On reaching Fort Portal, check in at the hotel, have lunch and continue to Kibale Forest Reserve. Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp, that is excellent for viewing primates and other forest animals. Bigodi wetland harbors various bird species, including; the great blue turaco, blue monkeys, baboons, bush pigs, black & white colobus monkeys, among others. It is a good destination for birding
Retire to the lodge for dinner and an overnight rest.
DAY 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, we head to the park headquarters [Kanyanchu Tourist Centre] for briefing. Kibale forest has the greatest variety and highest concentration of chimpanzees in Eat Africa. Famously known for the chimps, Kibale forest is a home to various primate species. The trek takes 2 to 3 hours, and it will provide you with the opportunity to see other primates in the forest as well as the birds.
Return to the lodge for lunch, Check out of the lodge and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arriving in the evening. Check in, have dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 3: Trekking the Gorillas
After an early morning breakfast with packed lunch, proceed for the morning briefing before the highlight of the trip which is gorilla trekking, this enjoyable gorilla experience is done through the rain forest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and other trackers. The challenging hike will award you with the magnificent silverbacks.
When the gorillas are sighted, you will be guided on how to behave with them. Interact with them, you can sit around them while gazing into their big round eyes for about an hour.
Slope back to your lodge, for an evening relaxation as you are entertained by the Batwa cultural group, have dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4: Return [transfer to Kampala]
You will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and drive to Kampala arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel or for a transfer to the airport for your departure flight
