5 DAYS SOURCE OF THE NILE AND GORILLA TREKKING

Then, trade the roar of the rapids for the hush of the rainforest as you trek deep into the jungle for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla encounter. Standing face-to-face with these gentle giants is an experience you’ll never forget.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

On your arrival, you will be welcomed by M safaris guide, who will transfer you to your respective hotel in Entebbe, you will check-in at your hotel and relax for the evening as you prepare for a transfer the next day. In case your arrival time is early enough, you can opt for a city walk around town.

Day 2: Visit source of the Nile and Itanda Falls

Early morning, after breakfast at your hotel, at around 7:00am you will be driven to the Eastern part of Uganda for the exciting adventure of White-water Rafting on the longest river in the world. The road to the great River Nile takes you through the spectacles of tea plantations, sugarcanes, African markets and the magnificent rainforest [Mabira Forest]. On the Nile, you will see different bird species like; the African darter, African sacred Ibis, African Open bill and so much more.

This trip starts with safety orientation and choosing the perfect rafting for you; [Wild: Choose to raft in the paddle-powered boats for one of the wildest raft rides in East Africa, or Mild: opt to be rowed downstream by professional guides in the safety raft]. Lunch on an island.

After an afternoon relaxation by the river bank, we depart for Kampala then have Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning, and after the guide will pick you from your hotel to start your transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

The drive to Bwindi Gorilla Park is long but rewarding with panoramic views of the green vegetation and traditional homesteads.

You will have a stopover at the equator for craft shopping and lunch will be in Mbarara then continue to the gorilla trekking safari park of Bwindi reaching the park headquarters late in the evening. You will check in at your lodge.

Day 4: Bwindi National Park – Gorilla trekking and Community Walk

Following the morning breakfast, depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins.

Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating.

Later take walk around the lodge after lunch to visit the Batwa /Pygmy community to see how they live. The Batwa community walks in Bwindi take you to Batwa local communities where you learn more about their forest life. It’s not just a conventional nature walk but an in-depth interaction which increase an understanding of who the Batwa are. You may meet some small groups of Batwa during gorilla trekking but a walk out to their homes is an amazing experience

DAY 5: Departure for Kampala

Have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe passing through the rolling hills with terraces, whilst watching the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through. Have Lunch at Igongo cultural Centre in Mbarara. En-route stopover at Mpambire drum makers point. After supporting the local craftsmen. Continue your journey arriving late afternoon. The guide will drop you off to the hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
