8-Day Wildlife & Primates Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala

• Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your guide will meet you.

• Transfer to Kampala for a brief city tour (optional).

• Overnight stay at Latitude 0°, Cassia Lodge, or a budget hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park & Top of the Falls Visit

• Depart early for Murchison Falls National Park (5-6 hour drive).

• Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking.

• Arrive in Murchison and visit the Top of Murchison Falls for breathtaking views.

• Check in at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Safari Lodge, or Red Chilli Rest Camp.

Day 3: Game Drive & Nile Boat Safari in Murchison Falls

• Morning game drive in the park to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes.

• Lunch at the lodge.

• Afternoon boat safari on the Nile to the base of the falls, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

• Optional hike to the top of the falls for stunning views.

• Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest – Home of Chimpanzees

• Drive to Kibale National Park (6-7 hours).

• Arrive in Fort Portal, a scenic town near the Rwenzori Mountains.

• Check in at Primate Lodge, Turaco Treetops, or budget accommodation.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

• Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,500 chimpanzees.

• Explore other primates like colobus monkeys & red-tailed monkeys.

• Lunch in Fort Portal.

• Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and check in at Mweya Safari Lodge, Elephant Plains Lodge, or budget camps.

• Evening game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, and possibly lions.

Day 6: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

• Morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains, spotting lions, leopards, and antelopes.

• Lunch at the lodge.

• Afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and diverse bird species.

• Evening relaxation at the lodge.

Day 7: Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha & Transfer to Bwindi

• Drive to the Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions.

• Short game drive to spot lions resting in fig trees.

• Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (3-hour drive).

• Check in at Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, or budget lodges.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking & Return to Entebbe

• Early morning briefing at the park headquarters.

• Gorilla trekking experience (2-6 hours, depending on gorilla location).

• Spend one hour with the mountain gorillas, watching them interact in their natural habitat.

• Lunch and drive back to Entebbe (8-9 hours) or take a domestic flight from Kihihi to Entebbe.

• Departure or overnight stay in Entebbe.
